How to use the Barney and Echo Educational Resources

The Barney and Echo programme has been designed to enable teachers to deliver a series of lessons to stimulate discussion and improve understanding of the chosen subject. The programme should be delivered to the year group that you feel is the most age appropriate and has flexibility to enable you to develop the subject further if you feel this would be beneficial.

The focal point for the lessons is the Barney and Echo workbook and we have divided the programme into a number of separate lessons.
To get the most out of the resources, choose the book you are teaching and click on the link, this will take you to the page that tells you all about your chosen book, you can download the workbook containing the additional resources to support the learning objectives.
The programme can be scheduled into the timetable in a way that suits your school and we also recommend that parents are encouraged to support the children at home as they work through the programme. There are worksheets to check understanding as well as posters which re-enforce some of the key messages. At the end of the programme there is a simple feedback form to highlight how beneficial the programme has been.
