Quickline

Thanks to four years of funding from Quickline Communications, almost 18,000 children aged between 9 & 11 will gain valuable education surrounding internet safety.

Seventy-two schools across North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are taking part with their year 5’s and 6’s gaining crucial knowledge prior to transition through to Secondary School.

Kelly Griffiths, project leader commented that, “We are very pleased that Quickline Communications have funded this very important and timely project for children across their areas of operation. The education provided will be a key asset to every participant throughout their academic lives.”

The last feedback report from the schools involved proved that 100% of participating children had learned strategies to overcome cyber bullies, keeping their personal information safe and avoiding communicating with strangers online.

The lead practitioner at Old Clee Primary Academy commented that. “The children found the project engaging and they like the characters. I feel the program is age appropriate for my year KS2 students, especially as it raises some important discussions around internet safety.”

The Caught in the Web project, consisting of workbooks for each child, teacher packs, parent engagement and drama productions has been further enhanced with a series of live Roadshow events.

Quickline is one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent broadband providers, delivering fast, reliable and fairly priced broadband to rural and hard-to-reach communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Quickline has invested millions in building and upgrading its network, bringing high-performance broadband to areas that have traditionally had limited choice.

In 2024, Quickline was awarded four UK Government Project Gigabit contracts, helping connect almost 170,000 hard-to-reach homes and businesses, alongside further commercial expansion in communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

Rachel Bowerman, social values manager at Quickline, said: “Quickline’s commitment goes beyond broadband. We run a dedicated programme of social value work to support the communities we serve.
“Helping broaden horizons for young people is at the heart of this, so we’re proud to enable the Barney and Echo project to reach schools across North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire."
